We've got changes in store with our Shrinking Sisters Nutrisystem journey. I'm passing on my Nutrisystem torch to Shrinking Sister Laura. She'll be blogging and tweeting -- along with Carol -- about her experiences on the Nutrisystem plan. She got her first shipment and is psyched to start -- she'll let you know soon.
Much thanks to everyone at Nutrisystem for allowing me to follow the program. The food is fabulous, the support is great and the health benefits are numerous. Even though you're eating their food as the centerpiece of your meals, you still need to add in fruits, vegetables and dairy servings. Because of that I have a whole new appreciation for vegetables and how they can really bulk up a meal and keep you satiated. (Eating more fruit has never been a problem for me!)
Some takeaway tips from my experience:
- The giant salad and Nutrisystem bar is a fantastic idea for lunch. That way you have your meal and your "dessert."
- Don't be afraid to take your meals with you to restaurants. Believe me, I've done it plenty of times and the servers don't blink an eye.
- Don't rely on sugar-free products to jazz up your entrees. I'd much rather smoosh some berries on top of my Nutrisystem pancakes or French toast than use some weird fake syrup.
- Fat-free Greek yogurt is by far the best dairy serving. It's low in calories and loaded with protein so it'll help keep you fuller longer.
Hooray Laura! Hooray you!
