Eek -- my doctor's office basically hunted me down and made me make an appointment for my yearly physical.
Don't worry -- I'm not really that tardy. I had a check-up last June so I'm only a couple months late.
But why do I dilly-dally on making the appointment? Because I wanted to be "there" and I'm not "there" yet.
But I am closer, so there's that.
I made the appointment for two Mondays from today, which leaves me 2 weeks to lose 35 pounds.
No, instead of my old "what quick-fix miracle diet should I try" way of thinking, I'm going to keep doing what I'm already doing but I'm going to do it better.
And what is that? Ain't nobody's program but my own.
And right now, what is working is:
- Around 1,600 calories
- No wheat
- Work out every other day
- More fruits and vegetables
- At least 7 hours of sleep
Simple as that.
Doing my program better means sticking to those guidelines. I have to trust that it's going to work because it's my plan and nobody else's. Because I am unlike anyone else, and so are you. And if any of my tips and ideas spark you to follow your own plan, then cool.
I'm in uncharted territory, weight-wise. I haven't been this weight since the mid-1990s and it's going to take extra sticktoitiveness to move beyond it.
I'm not working to be "skinny," just the healthiest, fittest version of myself.
And with that, I've got some pavement pounding to do!
