Y'know that beer commercial with the catchphrase "Here we go"? That's what I said Sunday morning after I stepped on the scale and saw it go down again.
After I decided to stop "freestyling" and do the plan like it's written, the scale has been rewarding me.
This week I thought I'd share some tips and faves that are helping me lose weight.
At right is a little bowl of something wonderful that can go on pancakes, French toast or waffles.
I'd been on the Nutrisystem message boards and people were discussing sugar-free pancake syrups. In a word, bleah. So I came up with this little combo of a serving of frozen mixed berries and a teaspoon of REAL maple syrup.
Drizzle the syrup over the fruit and heat in the microwave for a minute. Then spoon the warm fruit over your breakfast goodies. If there's any leftover you can swirl it into your yogurt.
I also keep a lot of frozen chopped spinach in the freezer. Tonight, for example, I mixed some into my Chicken Alfredo entree, which made it bigger and help soak up that lovely alfredo sauce.
Speaking of spinach, I use the fresh baby variety as a bed for a lot of my Nutrisystem lunch entrees, like this Chicken Quesadilla, above. If you place the piping hot quesadilla on the spinach it wilts a little and helps round out the meal.
(Why yes, that is a Batman plate.)
Can you tell I love spinach? It's a great leafy green because you can enjoy it raw or steamed. Try that with lettuce.
How are you "fluffing up" your Nutrisystem entrees?
